ASHBURNHAM — The hills in town will once again be alive with the sound of music this coming weekend.
The 16th annual iteration of the pay-what-you-can music festival, The Ramble, will be held on Saturday, Aug. 23 from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. at The Mountain, 64 Gibson Rd. The family friendly affair dedicated to ending veteran homelessness in the Northeast was co-founded in 2010 by the nationally touring band Adam Ezra Group and their nonprofit RallySound.
What began as a small gathering has grown into a powerful community movement — one that has raised over half a million dollars to date and helped countless veterans into safe, dignified housing, according to a press release. Since 2013, 100% of donations from The Ramble have gone directly to the New England Center and Home for Veterans (NECHV), an organization that provides housing, healthcare, job training, and life skills for veterans in need.
Last year alone The Ramble raised $151,000 for NECHV.
“The Ramble reminds us of the power we have when we come together as a community,” said Adam Ezra, front man of the Adam Ezra Group and co-founder of RallySound. “It is by far the most inspiring thing we get to do through our music, and all of us, musicians and volunteers alike, are fueled and inspired by the experience throughout the year.”
The 2025 lineup features Adam Ezra Group alongside a roster of beloved independent acts including Whiskey Treaty Roadshow, SIRSY, Chad Hollister, Miss Emily, Kali Stoddard-Imari, Steve Hartmann, and The Rollin’ Rust. Every artist and festival crew member donates their time and talent, underscoring RallySound’s belief that small, grassroots communities can make a big difference.
The Ramble’s return comes during an exciting chapter for Adam Ezra Group. Fresh off touring across the U.S. and Europe, the band recently collaborated with John Oates of Hall & Oates, was honored as Americana Act of the Year at the 2023 New England Music Awards, and earned national attention from SPIN Magazine, which recently called them “an independent underground folk band blowing up without selling out.”
Ezra also received the Distinguished Service to Veterans Award from NECHV. Past recipients include former Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker and former U.S. Secretary of Veterans Affairs Robert McDonald, and the band released “Relevate” on Aug. 13, the first single from their forthcoming album.
Ezra describes the track as “a rallying cry for connection, courage, and finding beauty in experiences we all carry with us,” a sentiment that mirrors The Ramble’s mission.
The entire day will be livestreamed worldwide via the Adam Ezra Group Facebook page and to learn more, donate, volunteer, or tune in live, visit getrambled.com.
