'Want religious Israelis at hostage deal protests? Ban crop tops and anti-Bibi chants' – Haaretz

Religious society in Israel is becoming more liberal, but not at the ballot box – or at the protests calling for an end to the war and a hostage deal. Here's why
Hundreds of thousands of people took part in two demonstrations earlier this month, calling for an end to the war and a deal securing the immediate release of the hostages. Both protests were held on weekdays, enabling people from all over the country to get to them. While a whole range of the country’s secular population was represented, what stood out was the almost complete absence of Orthodox society, of the religious Zionist public. Men wearing kippot and women with head coverings were few and far between. Yet the issue of the hostages is all about humanity and not politics, and unites communities that espouse diverse worldviews.
