In addition to our annual party (photos here) and 80-page magazine (flip through it here), we’re going one-on-one with winners of this year’s News-Gazette People’s Choice awards until nominations open for ’26 (May 11).
What year did your business open? We acquired Shields Automart in August of 1990 and Shields Auto Center in April of 1994.
Where will you display the People’s Choice trophy? In the customer waiting lounge and at the check-in counter for Service and Parts.
Tell us why your business is so good at what it does. Our business excels because we offer quality products and services with transparent pricing, all while providing a welcoming, no-pressure, family atmosphere, plus we have our Exclusive Warranty Forever.
What band is playing at your company party? In lieu of a traditional company party, we celebrate with “The 12 Days Before Christmas,” where our staff receives a small gift on each day leading up to Christmas. It is a lot of fun and our staff really enjoys it!
In 25 years — 2050 — what’s your business going to look like? We envision our business continuing to be a trusted pillar of our community, adapting to new technologies while maintaining our commitment to exceptional customer service and a friendly, family-oriented environment. One of the new technologies that I believe is fully autonomous vehicles, and some potentially without a steering wheel.
“Built on the dedication, professionalism and heart of our exceptional employees.”
