Teresa Crozier says she’s been going to the fair since she was born, and last night she noticed something going on, but she wasn’t sure what it was.
“We started noticing it wasn’t just your usual jostling and stuff. They were actively yelling and very much pushing and shoving each other. There was somebody on the ground that they were hitting and kicking,” says Crozier.
Once she noticed something was going on, she grabbed her phone to call security, but before she could, shots rang out.
“First thing I did was shove my sister-in-law in the other direction because she had my nephew. And then like everybody panicked and took off in every other direction,” says Crozier.
Located right next to the incident is Mad Anthony, and according to the manager, Chris Michael, people were coming inside trying to get to safety.
“There was a large group of people running inside. he did everything he could to make sure everybody felt safe and took care of everybody. Get everybody water and calm people down, and we just wanted to make sure that everybody could feel like they could come in here and you know not have to worry about whatever was going on outside,” says Michael.
Crozier says this incident has definitely messed with her, and she isn’t sure if she wants to go back, but she also says she knows this hasn’t happened before.
“I also know that in the years I’ve been going, nothing like this has ever happened. I sincerely hope that this was an isolated incident,” said Crozier.
