A company is expanding in the Upstate.
Inc., a long-standing utility construction company, is expanding its operations and building onto its corporate headquarters in Greenwood County’s Town of Ninety Six, according to a news release.
The company’s $10.1 million investment will create 31 new jobs in Greenwood County. The expansion will include the construction of a maintenance shop, renovations to the company’s existing facility, and the addition of new administrative office space to support continued growth. Construction is expected to begin as early as November 2025.
“Since October of 1971, Chandler Construction Services Inc. has proudly served the construction industry as a Greenwood County based business,” Patrick Hobson, President, Chandler Construction Services, Inc., said in the release. “Since incorporation, we have cast a broad geographic net for delivery of our services, while never deviating from 1511 Ninety Six Highway. The time has come for operational expansion to sustainably maintain our growth and position the organization for another successful 55 years.
“We are very appreciative of Greenwood County’s support and for making it an easy decision to expand our Corporate Headquarters, in Ninety Six. Project Star is a big step for our organization and further solidifies our commitment to Greenwood County.”
Founded in 1971, Chandler Construction Services Inc. has built a reputation for delivering high-quality water and sewer projects in South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia while remaining firmly rooted in Greenwood County, the release stated. The expansion marks a new chapter in a long-term strategy for the locally based company, known as Project Star during early planning discussions.
“Greenwood County continues to prove that it’s a place where businesses don’t just grow, they thrive,” Theo Lane, Chairman, Greenwood County Council chairman, said in the release. “Chandler Construction’s expansion is another example of how our commitment to , infrastructure, and community partnership creates the right environment for long-term success. We’re proud to see local companies choosing to reinvest and build their future right here in Greenwood County.”
