One Music Fest wrapped up its second day with a vibrant mix of surprise guests and collaborative performances, showcasing the rich diversity of gospel, R&B, hip-hop, and soul.
The festival’s final night featured multiple artists bringing out special guests, culminating in a 25th-anniversary celebration for Atlanta hip-hop icon Ludacris. The celebration included surprise appearances by Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee LL Cool J, Atlanta rapper Jeezy, Black Eyed Peas vocalist Fergie, and producer Jermaine Dupri, all of whom performed collaborations with Ludacris.
Marvin Sapp, a gospel artist of immense talent, opened the morning with a soul-stirring performance that included songs from his extensive catalog, such as “Never Would Have Made It” and “The Best in Me.” His worshipful atmosphere set the perfect tone for the festival’s second day.
The ‘TrailRide’ segment, a tribute to the Southern club music scene, featured several acts. The set included performances from Tonio Amani, Cupid, Mike Clark Jr., DJ Smooth, Sky Whatley, and Big Chad Reed. Social media personality Ms. Shirley made a special appearance during the performance. Cupid, known for his 2007 hit ‘Cupid Shuffle,’ led the crowd through his signature line dance, adding a unique and interactive element to the festival.
DJ and producer D-Nice curated a segment featuring multiple R&B artists from the late 1990s and early 2000s. Carl Thomas performed selections from his catalog, including “I Wish” and “Emotional.” Tweet, known for “Oops (Oh My)” and her work with Missy Elliott, took the stage alongside Case, who delivered his hits “Missing You” and “Touch Me Tease Me.”
Miami hip-hop pioneer Uncle Luke of 2 Live Crew fame joined the set, bringing his signature high-energy performance style. Dreamville Records artist Ari Lennox closed the segment with songs from her albums “Shea Butter Baby” and “age/sex/location.”
Singer-songwriter Leon Thomas performed with his guitar, highlighting tracks from his 2023 album “Electric Dusk.” The former Nickelodeon actor turned R&B artist, known for collaborations with Ariana Grande and Post Malone, delivered an intimate performance that showcased his vocal range and instrumental skills.
Hip-hop duo Clipse, consisting of brothers Gene “No Malice” Thornton and Terrence “Pusha T” Thornton, performed material spanning their career. The Virginia Beach natives delivered songs from their critically acclaimed albums “Lord Willin’” and “Hell Hath No Fury,” bringing their Neptunes-produced sound to the Atlanta crowd.
Jazmine Sullivan performed songs from her five studio albums, including tracks from her Grammy-winning project “Heaux Tales.” The Philadelphia native, known for her powerful vocal delivery and emotionally raw songwriting, performed hits such as “Need U Bad,” “Bust Your Windows,” and “Pick Up Your Feelings.”
R&B group Jagged Edge performed their catalog of late 1990s and early 2000s hits, including “Let’s Get Married,” “Where the Party At,” and “Promise.” The Atlanta-based quartet brought out fellow R&B artist Lloyd as a special guest. Lloyd, signed to The Inc. Records and later Interscope Records, performed his hits “You” and “Get It Shawty.”
Florida rapper Doechii brought her swamp rap aesthetic to the Atlanta stage. The Tampa native, signed to Top Dawg Entertainment, performed tracks from her 2022 project “she / her / black bitch” and her 2023 EP “Alligator Bites Never Heal.” Her energetic performance showcased the style that earned her a Grammy and a BET Hip Hop Award.
Atlanta rapper Ludacris anchored the evening with an extensive performance celebrating his 25th anniversary in the music industry. The multi-platinum artist, known for his theatrical live shows and distinctive Southern rap style, performed hits spanning his nine studio albums.
Producer Jermaine Dupri joined Ludacris onstage, representing their shared Atlanta hip-hop legacy. St. Louis rapper Chingy performed “Right Thurr”. Singer Bobby Valentino delivered his 2005 hit “Slow Down,” while Chicago rapper Shawnna performed “Gettin’ Some.”
Atlanta rapper Jeezy appeared to perform collaborations with Ludacris. Black Eyed Peas vocalist Fergie surprised the crowd with a performance of “Glamorous,” her 2006 collaboration with Ludacris. Polo Da Don and R&B superstar Usher also joined the celebration.
The evening’s final surprise came when LL Cool J, a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee and a hip-hop legend whose career spans four decades, appeared onstage. His presence was a powerful symbol of the festival’s impact on hip-hop culture and the genre’s collaborative spirit across regions and generations. LL Cool J celebrated Ludacris’ career milestone, representing multiple generations of hip-hop artistry.
