Jeff Nicholas and Vanessa Kwiatkowski Nicholas will present a four-hand piano concert Sunday at Emanuel Lutheran Church, Napoleon.
NAPOLEON — Jeff Nicholas and Vanessa Kwiatkowski Nicholas will present a four-hand piano concert at Emanuel Lutheran Church, Sunday, Nov. 2 at noon.
Musical selections will include “Symphony No. 3 in F major, op. 90,” Johannes Brahms, and “Slavonic Dances, op. 46,” Antonin Dvorak.
Jeff Nicholas is a pianist and composer from southeast Michigan. He studied piano at Eastern Michigan University with Dr. Joel Schoenhals and composition at the same institution with Dr. Anthony Iannccone.
He earned his master’s degree in composition from BGSU, studying primarily with Dr. Mikel Kuehn.
Vanessa Kwiatkowski Nicholas is a pianist, teacher and church musician based in the Toledo area. Her musical journey began at the age of five when she received a keyboard for Christmas, sparking a passion that has grown into a lifelong career.
She also serves as a music coordinator and bell choir director at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Napoleon.
She holds a master’s degree in piano performance and pedagogy from Bowling Green State University and a bachelor’s degree in music performance from Wayne State University. She studied piano with Emma Bagdassarova, Robert Conway, and Solungga Liu, and studied organ with Ronald Prowse and Michael Gartz.
Admission to the event is free and open to the public. The church is located at 810 Scott St. in Napoleon.
