Chester County Orchestras Prepare for Unforgettable Concert Season – VISTA.Today

Symphony orchestras throughout Chester County are ready for a stellar concert season with top-tier musical performances, writes Shannon Montgomery for County Lines Magazine.
Residents can catch performances by local music groups and enjoy an evening out at the theatre. From university orchestras to professional ensembles, here are upcoming performances throughout Chester County this concert season.
Brandywine Valley SymphonyChadds Ford. One of the region’s leading symphony orchestras, the Brandywine Valley Symphony (formerly the Kennett Symphony) will perform at the Mendenhall Inn to kick off the concert season. The Nov. 23 performance will include Tchaikovsky’s “Serenade of Strings” performed in the Inn’s Grand Ballroom with light refreshments available. The orchestra will also perform on Dec. 6 at the Chester County History Center.
Main Line Symphony OrchestraWayne. At the Nov. 21 performance at Valley Forge Middle School, Main Line Symphony Orchestra will celebrate its eightieth season. Music will include Bach’s “Air on the G String” and Tchaikovsky’s “Symphony No. 2” in addition to the world premiere of local composer Randy Navarre’s “La Grande Serenade.”
West Chester UniversityWest Chester. West Chester University boasts a range of musical groups through both the Wells School of Music and extracurricular opportunities. On Nov. 15, the symphony orchestra will perform “Simply Transformed,” a performance featuring music by Paul Dukas and Philip Glass. The Incomparable Golden Rams Marching Band will also perform at university home games on Nov. 15 and at the West Chester Christmas Parade on Dec. 5.
