KNOXVILLE, Tenn — Legendary country music artist Kenny Chesney’s new book is number one on the New York Times best-sellers list, the artist announced Thursday.
Knoxville native Kenny Chesney has dedicated his time to so many things in life, from clubs and sports at Gibbs High School. In his time as an entertainer, he opens up about it all in his first-ever book, “Heart Life Music.” Chesney worked on the project with co-writer Holly Gleason.
In a post on social media, Chesney thanked and congratulated Gleason for her work.
“I am so proud of you Holly,” Chesney wrote. “Writing this book has taken us down a lot of roads and to a lot of different places that have made a profound impact on my life. I’m so grateful I got to take this journey with you. We were supposed to write this book together and I’m so proud of it and you.”
Chesney kicked off his book tour at his alma mater, East Tennessee State University.
“My journey has been very unique. It’s been going for a while, but all of it really started right here with Jack Tottle and a very unique program at East Tennessee State,” Chesney said. “You know, when I moved here from Knoxville, I had no idea that there was a program of bluegrass music, and it changed my life.”
