IG Japan to stop offering crypto ETF CFDs – FX News Group

IG Securities, the Japanese subsidiary of electronic trading major IG Group, will stop offering crypto ETF CFDs.
The change comes after Japan’s Financial Services Agency (FSA) revised its “Q&A Concerning Financial Instruments and Exchange Business, etc.” on October 31, 2025, and published its policy regarding the handling of “cryptocurrency ETF CFDs.” Based on the revised policy, and after careful internal discussions, the broker has decided to discontinue cryptocurrency ETF CFD trading services.
Starting Monday, December 1, 2025, IG Japan will no longer accept new orders for cryptocurrency ETF CFDs. In addition, the company will cancel any pending new orders at that time.
Existing positions can still be settled after Monday, December 1, 2025.
Settlement Deadline: Close of trading on Saturday, January 31, 2026.
Positions not settled by the above deadline will be liquidated by IG Japan at the price at the close of trading on Saturday, January 31, 2026.
Customers with open positions in the relevant instruments are asked to close their positions in the relevant securities by the close of trading on Saturday, January 31, 2026.
The brokerage will no longer accept new orders from Monday, December 1, 2025.
Regarding fees, standard trading fees will apply when closing existing positions. The same applies to forced liquidations.
Products and services other than cryptocurrency ETFs and CFDs will continue to be available as usual.
