Downtown Parkersburg returns to pre-COVID business levels – WTAP

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) – Business is booming in downtown Parkersburg, according to Downtown PKB.
Downtown PKB says that downtown business has returned to pre-COVID levels.
Amanda Stevens, executive director of Downtown PKB, said that new shops and businesses are opening, including a handmade candy and sandwich shop.
Stevens spoke on the revival of downtown.
“It’s really that everyone down here is just really doing their best and working really hard. That is why it is thriving and doing very well. It is not necessarily what Downtown PKB is doing, it’s what all the businesses and organizations are doing,” said Stevens.
This is just ahead of Black Friday and Small Business Saturday next week.
“We do have Small Business Saturday coming up. It’s the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Of course we encourage people to shop small and local all the time, but that’s a day they really shine,” Stevens said.
Stevens added that many local businesses are having deals and special hours for Small Business Saturday. You can find those out by visiting their website linked here.
Stevens encouraged all who have aspirations of owning a small business to take the step and join the downtown community.
“If you have a dream of having a small business, or if you have an existing business and you want to be part of a welcoming, vibrant community, we invite you to come be a part of Downtown Parkersburg,” added Stevens.
