The Waverly Chamber Music Series is delighted to welcome back The OK Factor—cellist Olivia Diercks and violinist Karla Peters—for a heartwarming holiday performance titled “Have an OK Christmas” on Sunday, Dec. 14, at 2 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church & School in Waverly.
The duo, who also headlined last year’s December concert, returns by popular demand to bring their signature blend of warmth, creativity and festive charm to Waverly this holiday season.
A new-classical crossover duo with over a decade of writing, performing and touring experience, The OK Factor is defined by one word: lucky—the word Olivia and Karla use to describe their musical connection.
Their almost telepathic musical communication is felt immediately by audiences, who are drawn in by the pair’s spontaneity, joy and deep authenticity.
Their original compositions and folk-inspired arrangements are celebrated for being both comfortingly familiar and refreshingly new—”genre-bending,” as described by MPR’s Julie Amacher, and “pure magic,” according to the Wausau Pilot & Review.
Beyond the stage, The OK Factor has cultivated a passionate commitment to community engagement through residency programs, intimate outreach performances, and educational workshops for students as part of their ATLAS initiative.
Their impact has been recognized through notable accolades, including a Minnesota State Arts Board Arts Education Grant for the 2024 school year and the American Scandinavian Foundation’s Artist Fellowship in 2020.
Olivia and Karla are also highly sought-after collaborators and composers-in-residence, working with regional, national and international performers, ensembles and digital media creators.
Their artistic catalog includes five studio albums—Water Street (2014), That’s Enough of That (2016), Have Yourself an OK Christmas (2017), Season’s Greetings (2020), and OKX (2023)—highlighting their evolution and continued creative exploration.
The Waverly Chamber Music Series invites the community to this festive concert full of holiday spirit, artistry and connection. Admission is free, and donations are gratefully accepted to help sustain the series and its mission to bring high-quality chamber music to the Waverly community.
