When the Bishop of London was appointed the first female Archbishop of Canterbury, the news was generally well received by many in the worldwide Anglican Communion.
Many, including Oklahomans, treated the October announcement for what it was — a historic moment for the global denomination.
“There are moments when history bends toward hope, when the Spirit shifts the air and what onceseemed impossible becomes possible,” said the Rev. Katie Churchwell, dean of St. Paul’s Cathedral.
