Iowa Business Council to release annual competitive dashboard report March 10 – Quad Cities Business Journal

The Iowa Business Council will unveil its annual Iowa Competitive Dashboard report during a virtual press conference at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 10.
IBC Chair Gage Kent, who also serves as chairman and CEO of Kent Worldwide, and IBC President Joe Murphy will present the report’s findings and recommendations at the event.
First published in 2011, the nonpartisan report measures how Iowa competes nationally across five categories: economic growth; workforce and education; governance; health and wellness; and state demographics. Each category is composed of five metrics that are averaged to produce an overall rating of outperforming, competitive or underperforming.
The IBC describes the dashboard as a resource for lawmakers and business leaders evaluating policies aimed at strengthening Iowa’s economy.
The virtual event is open to the media and the public. Registration is available at https://us06web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_865WD6I5TLqwyVONku9ySg.

The Iowa Business Council is a nonpartisan nonprofit whose 22 members are the chief executives of some of Iowa’s largest employers. Member companies collectively employ more than 150,000 Iowans and have invested billions of dollars in the state’s commercial infrastructure. The council’s members are also active in technology innovation, research and development, and philanthropic efforts statewide.
