Here is some additional information about each band scheduled to compete in the Music Mashup:
Alpine Motel is an indie rock band from Abingdon, Virginia. Blending influences both old and new, their sound evokes nostalgic soundscapes, vintage charm, and wistful melodies—perfect for late-night drives. After releasing their debut album, “Chiaroscuro,” in 2025, the band has only picked up momentum. This year, they’re writing more, playing more, and aiming to soar to even greater heights than before.
BattleCat is a group of well-seasoned musicians bringing you the best in rock, pop and blues music. Alan Leake leads the band with world class vocals. Jamie Henry provides the guitar work, having played in bands throughout Europe and the southern U.S. His influences include blues and classic rock with a little bit of classical mixed in. Randy Goan plays keyboards and supplies background vocals. A native of Morristown, he has played in various blues and rock bands in Eastern Tennessee. Montoya “Mark” Bowman is on drums, hailing from Rogersville. Bassist Jeff Sawyer, from Baneberry by way of Texas, also provides background vocals. His influences are many and cover the gamut of blues and all genres of rock.
Dead Set On Life has built a reputation for breathing new life into the songs that shaped rock history. Their tribute sets weave together southern rock anthems, and the best of 70s rock ‘n roll, creating a 70s rock tribute band experience that feels both familiar and thrillingly fresh. With searing guitar riffs, powerhouse vocals, and a rhythm section that rocks like a freight train, the band transforms every stage into a full-tilt rock and roll revival. While paying tribute to legends of the past, Dead Set on Life keeps audiences singing, dancing, and wanting more.
MA1N Street is a high-energy alternative rock band homegrown from Greeneville. This four-piece group delivers raw, unfiltered rock n roll to every show. MA1N Street produces classic covers from each decade right alongside their heavy original anthems.
Some Old Friends was a band born in Carter County during COVID when long-time friends Carrie Maggard and Rich McDougall connected to play music for their birthdays. This project has since grown into our current four-piece lineup with the addition of Thomas McCauley on bass and Anthony Wayne on drums. Their shows feature a wide variety of music — rock, blues, country and alternative favorites from the 70s through today — along with a collection of original songs. Each set is tailored to fit the specific vibe of the venue and audience.
