The business community is invited to take part in a discussion on race, racism and how organizations can make a positive impact in the community through the work of ERG (Exploring/Engaging/Ending Racism Groups).
ERG—formerly known as Exploring Racism Group—will host its first introductory half-day leaders’ seminar from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Nov. 7 at the Rochester Regional Transit Service headquarters at 1372 East Main St. in Rochester.
The free session will introduce participants to the ERG program and explore the history of racism, bias and prejudice, along with ways to address these issues in the workplace and beyond.
Organizers note that ERG is expanding programming on racism and equity at a time when many organizations are scaling back such efforts.
Since launching in 2019, the all-volunteer initiative has hosted 37 cohorts of its year-long program, engaging more than 320 regional leaders.
Looking ahead to 2026, ERG plans to launch new programming to help alumni sustain and expand their anti-racism efforts and is seeking volunteers to support those initiatives.
