Cargill’s Animal Nutrition and Health division has opened its new retail feed facility in Granger.
The facility at 700 Ruehl Way expands the Minnesota-based agriculture company’s Pacific Northwest presence and its capabilities to serve current and future ag retailers, the company announced in a news release.
The new Granger retail feed operation is a stand-alone facility that will sit on the same site as Cargill’s bulk dairy feed mill. It will house pellet mills, high-tech packaging lines, a warehouse, office space, breakrooms and locker rooms for employees.
“We are excited to see this new facility opened and operational at full capacity,” said Phil Graham, managing director of Cargill’s animal nutrition and health division in North America. “Our presence in Granger is in response to the growing demand for animal feed in the west, as the trend of ranching and farming continues to rise.”
The facility has the capacity to produce and package 120,000 tons of animal feed annually, and brings 21 new jobs to the local community.
The Granger team will work to bring additional capacity of Cargill brands including Nutrena, Loyall Life, Black Gold, SafeChoice, NatureWise, and Nature’s Canvas to store shelves across the region, Graham stated.

• AllCities Solar Power + has moved its Yakima office … but not far. Owner Paul Comiskey said the residential and commercial solar power company has moved its office from 2008 S. First St. to the adjacent building at 2014 S. First St. The move is tied to Comiskey’s purchase of the company from the family of longtime renewable energy advocate Don Mills, who died last fall. • We’ve received several questions about activity at the vacant property on the southeast corner of 48th Avenue and Nob Hill Boulevard. A city of Yakima building permit was issued for grading of the property on July 1, and that activity is underway. We’ll pass along further details as they are available.
