PITTSBURG, Kan. (KOAM) — A driver suffers a medical condition and drives into a business on Broadway.
According to the Pittsburg Police Department, officers responded to John’s Sports Center on December 23, 2025, due to reports of a vehicle crashing into the building.
When officers arrived, they found a 2022 Hyundai Elantra had hit the north side of John’s Sports Center, damaging two air conditioning units and the fence.
The Pittsburg Police Department says the driver sustained minor injuries and all other occupants were uninjured.
Police determined that the driver suffered a medical condition, causing him to lose consciousness.
Once he lost consciousness, he accelerated the vehicle until it hit the building.
A preliminary breath test indicated no alcohol.
The investigation is ongoing.
